French Bulldogs
We’ve just recently started breeding French Bulldogs in 2007 but we have been breeding and showing dogs of other breeds in the past: Herbert has been breeding and showing Tibetan Terriers, Anne wire-haired dachshounds. Why French Bulldogs now?
We did not want to have a watchdog or gundog or any other dog requiring either a lot of grooming or exercise or both. All we wanted to have was a four legged companion that would serve no other purpose than being our companion in life. That’s why we chose the Frenchies.
Frenchies are charming little clowns who can move pretty nimbly and join you for long walks if the temperatures are moderate. Frenchies are small dogs but don’t bark excessively; they belong to the group of Molossers but aren’t aggressive at all.
Everything that’s said about French Bulldogs we found to be true. Although our own kids have long since grown up and left the house, our Frenchies love small children and just die for playing soccer with the kids next door. Especially Monty is a complete soccer freak!
The kennel name “gomme grosse” means “Big Eraser” because in our opinion the body silhoutte of a French Bulldog pretty much resembles an eraser! Since the saying goes that one tends to look like one’s dog when growing older, we only hope that one day we will not resemble big erasers too...!!
